The Suman Sawhney Healthcare Centre is designed to promote wellness and quality health care to society’s needy and marginalised sections. It offers free OPD services to the public and has a modern Pathology laboratory that provides free investigations.
OPD SERVICES
Allopathic and Homeopathic Medical practitioners are available at scheduled times on weekdays. All patients receive free consultations and medicines. A treatment room with first aid services and a trained nurse are available under a doctor’s supervision. All patients are registered at the reception, and a proper record of diagnosis, medication, and laboratory tests are maintained.
DAIGNOSTIC TESTS
A state-of-the-art pathology laboratory caters to the needs of investigations prescribed by doctors. All tests are free of cost for patients. The laboratory is registered at the Delhi Medical Council, manned by an experienced laboratory technician and supervised by a visiting pathologist. The laboratory follows all test and waste disposal norms as the medical norms and laws prescribe.
ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES
Eye Camps are periodically organised by liaising with volunteer groups and eye hospitals for the local community. During these, free eye check-ups and medication are provided. In a few cases, cataract surgeries have also been carried out at the sponsoring Eye Hospitals free of cost. In the recent past, Serve Samman, New Delhi, Mitsui Chemicals India Pvt Ltd, and EYECARE Eye Hospital Noida have conducted eye camps where many patients were examined and treated. A few were taken for free Cataract operation.
The health centre’s functionaries undertake wellness awareness campaigns by contacting the local community through talks on hygiene and sanitation and encouraging them to adopt healthy life practices.
OUTCOMES
The processes and procedures followed are those prescribed for such medical facilities. On average, approximately 1000 patients are treated every month. Until December 2024, over 27,500 patients availed themselves of free consultations and medicines. During the same period, over 1340 pathological investigations were carried out free of charge to the patients.
