INFRASTUCTURE
Ashok Sawhney Foundation has invested in modern facilities, including computer labs, digital classrooms, and training aids. It has an MoU with the NIIT Foundation, which provides trained instructors, course materials, mobilisers, management staff, and supervisory and placement support. While the Foundation compensates the NIIT Foundation for its services, it provides training free of cost to the candidates and community at large.
INITIATIVES IN COLLABORATION WITH NIIT FOUNDATION
Ashok Sawhney Foundation has an MoU with the NIIT Foundation, with the latter collaborating on community development through education, training, and skill-building programs for underserved populations. Youth empowerment is the essential focus. Spin-offs are additional programs to create awareness among the community on financial and digital matters and develop young people’s personalities. The arrangement has two parts. The first aims to provide employment opportunities to disadvantaged youth by offering occupation-oriented training and placement support to transform lives. The second part of the initiative is to reach out to the community through appreciation programs to spread digital, cyber, and financial literacy. For those still too young for jobs, two non-career programs are conducted. The first gives exposure to the basics of Information Technology, and the second is an English language-speaking and personality development program. Until 31 December 2024, 1050 candidates were enrolled for various programs. Over 70 per cent completed the course, and over 80 per cent secured placement for their first job. This is above the expected national standards

Domain knowledge is aided by Industry visits conducted either virtually or physically and interaction with domain experts. In addition, career guidance, mock interviews and counselling sessions are conducted to prepare the trainees for placement.
For career programs, essential training is imparted during physical classes and contact programs. Trainees access follow-up instructions online through a specially designed app. All training utilises digital aids, and trainees’ progress is tracked and graded regularly. Digital records of training and performance are maintained.
In addition to classroom instruction, site visits and on-the-job training are provided in line with NSDC standards. Digital and financial literacy programs are conducted in batches by trainers who reach out to the community near their residences. This initiative has exposed over 620 personnel to these programs until 31 December 2024. Non-career programs in Basic IT and spoken English are conducted in classes at the Suman Sawhney Multi-skill Development Centre. As of December 2024, 580 candidates had been trained in non-career courses.
